Addis Abeba
Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is situated on the Ethiopian Highlands at an altitude of about 2,400 meters, at the foot of the extinct Entoto volcano. It is the largest city in the country, home to about 3.8 million people. Known as a political and cultural hub, it is often referred to as the capital of Africa due to the presence of the African Union and numerous embassies. Amharic is the dominant language, but Oromo and Gurage can also be heard. The climate is moderate, with mild winters and pleasant summers. The best time to visit is from October to March.
