Ekvádor
Ecuador, a country in north-western South America, borders Colombia and Peru and lies on the Pacific Ocean. Its name refers to the equator, which crosses the country's territory. Ecuador also includes the famous Galapagos Islands, 1000 km off the mainland. The country offers a wide range of landscapes: from the coast, through the majestic Andes, to the Amazon lowlands. Average temperatures range from 15°C in the mountains to 30°C on the coast. The best time to visit is the dry season from June to September.
