Romania lies in south-eastern Europe, bordering Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Moldova. It has access to the Black Sea and its capital is Bucharest. The country is a member of the EU and NATO. Its landscape is dominated by the Carpathian Mountains, which encircle the Transylvanian Plateau. Here you will find picturesque castles such as Dracula's castle in Bran, as well as nature reserves like the Danube Delta. The climate is temperate, and the best months to visit are May and September.
