Papeete
Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia, located on the island of Tahiti in the Society Islands archipelago. Founded in 1890, the city is home to about 26,000 people, while the entire metropolitan area has over 120,000 residents. The predominant religions are Protestantism and Catholicism. The tropical climate brings heavy rains from October to May, with temperatures ranging from 25 °C in July to 27 °C in January. Highlights include the market, the Pearl Museum, Bougainville Park, and Pomaré Boulevard.
